Keiki Kokua Day : Jack Johnson + Ziggy Marley

For the third year in a row I have been shooting the Keiki Kokua Fest for the Kokua Foundation.  I have blogged this event before.  This year, the special guest was Ziggy Marley. I was so stoked.  And so were the kids.

As I shot Jack and Ziggy, I sang along with the kids “don’t worry, about a thing”.  It was such a great moment.  The kids worked pretty hard thinking of environmental projects for their schools.  I always have SUCH a great time being a part of this event.

Be sure to pick up a copy of Family Time by Ziggy and To The Sea by Jack.  Music is good for the soul.  Yah mon.

This star lamp was made with last year’s Kokua Foundation calendar.  Every year kids enter their drawing to be on the cover.

My friend Kaimana Pine was running the KANU Hawaii booth where people were making their Earth Day resolutions.

SIMPLE shoes were there with their recycles sneakers.  I think the are pretty darn cool for organic cotton and recycled tires!

Cinematographer Dave Homcy was there capturing the day’s events as well. He is getting hitched in August.  I plan to be there too.  :)

My Earth Day resolution is to use my reusable water bottle instead of plastic single use bottles.  You can see it here: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=123838070977100

xoxo, Marina
