I don’t think I would ever shoot a wedding on the 4th of July if I couldn’t be with my family. Lucky for me, my hubby is good friends with the groom and they were all invited! Although they left before the flapper dance and the cigarette girls handed out sparklers, it was still nice to see them playing sheriff in the fields of Kualoa Ranch and eating from the dessert buffet. Actually, I think that was all the boys ate… I was too busy shooting to mind what sweets they found!  It’s my last wedding for a few weeks which will also be nice.

Many congrats to Kehau and Eric. I have known them about 8 years now and I was very honored when they asked me to be their wedding photographer. Both are school teachers by day. Eric plays the sax for Go Jimmy Go and Kehau is fluent in Spanish. She was quite the mujer hermosa in her 1920’s inspired custom wedding gown!

A bridesmaid in a past wedding contacted me to do some commercial work. When I found out it was for a clothing chain I had shopped at as a young teen, I was ecstatic. My photos will be blown up huge in over 20 Jeans Warehouse stores across the state of Hawaii!

We shot on an estate at the end of Lanikai. When I got there, I found out there would also be a “behind the scenes” video being filmed as I shot the models. Samson, the videographer from IMF, was really easy to work with. Turns out, he primarily does weddings and has 3 kids, just like me.

The Ala Moana store opening is in mid-July and the rest of the chain should be done in mid-August. I will post more info on the grand re-opening when I get it. For now, here are some of my favorite shots of the day.
