Shirin + Thomas : Wedding : Na Aina Kai, Kauai

Shirin and Tom were married Saturday on the North Shore of Kauai.  Jason and I flew over a few hours early to get lunch on our way up to the location, Na Aina Kai Botanical Gardens.

We were warned that there had been a traffic accident and that the major road (a two lane highway) was closed.  Our hearts go out to the two families that were greatly effected by the crash.

Getting to the wedding was going to take longer then expected.  We made the most of our detour (the Waialua Golf Course) and made it up to Kilauea in plenty of time.  When we arrived I was relieved to hear from Deanna of I Do Weddings that all the vendors and guests had arrived safely.

Shirin got ready at the Residence, a beautiful home overlooking the ocean.

wblog003One pair for the beach ceremony, one pair for the reception.  I encourage ALL Hawaii brides to bring 2 pairs of shoes to the wedding.

wblog004

wblog006Shirin had her hair and  make-up done by Blue Sky Styling.  Be sure to check out the “Updon’ts” section.

wblog014We rode the shuttle down to the ceremony site on the beach.

The groom was dapper in his Zegna suit.  After all, what else would expect from the star of this sophisticated commercial.  Yes, Thomas is an accomplished writer and actor.  He is also so, so, so very in love with Shirin!

wblog025Shirin and Tom had a Bahá’í ceremony.  It is much more spiritual then formal.  They had members of their family and close friends do readings of their own choosing.  Everything spoken was truly from the heart.

wblog053The amazing work of Martin Roberts Design was prevalent throughout the reception area.  I was absolutely thrilled with the simple elegance of all the details.

At my last wedding I asked Jason to take a few shots of me working.  He managed to get a few that really show off the beauty of our location for the day.  Thanks Jason!!!

I will be sharing more photos of their wedding in another post.

I have some good news about my mom.  She is only in stage 1 of her breast cancer.  The end of this month she will get it removed and then start chemotherapy.

I am so thankful that it isn’t worse.

Kate + Matt : Wedding : Kona Village Resort

I am alive!  Quickly before I get into this AWESOME destination wedding, gotta let you all know a few things.

1) Baby is super healthy and my due date has moved to December 5th!  We find out the sex in about 6 weeks.  We are SO peeking!  Think PINK!!!!!

2) My three boys are out of school for summer.  This means I am mommy triple over time.  I am still dedicating my nights to my office, but for the most part, I will be at the library, pool, or the skatepark.

3) I just found out that my mom has breast cancer.  So far we are optimistic, but news like that is never fun.

Now for something completely different…… A BLONDE BRIDE!!!!

For those of you who follow my work, I have never had a blonde bride.  I am still in shock about it….  Anyways, Kate gives blonde brides a good name.  She was so fun and excited for her big day.  She really was beaming like a little ray of sunshine.

blog01Kate handmade her wedding invites and all the print material.

blog02All the bridesmaids were blonde too!
